In this blog, we share the two most straightforward ways to force laptops to use Dedicated Graphics Cards. The first one consists of the following instructions.
- Click right on your desktop, select graphic properties. If you can’t find graphical properties, then select the Intel graphics setting. Now you see Intel graphics and media control panel.
- Click on advance mood.
- Now select the 3D tab and set the 3D preference to perform.
- Select the power tab & set power plans to maximum performance if you perform your laptop with only running on battery, then select battery in the top right corner and set maximum performance.
- Close the Intel graphics panel & click right on the desktop. Select-control panel for Dedicated GPU (NVIDIA or ATI or ATM/AMD RADEON)
- For NVIDIA Cards, click on adjust image setting with preview, select use my preference emphasizing performance & apply.
- Select manage 3D setting & open the drop-down menu for a global setting.
- Select high-performance NVIDIA processors and click apply.
- Open the drop-down menu and click add. Now, search & select SERATO Video App.
- Open the drop-down menu and repeat step 8. Do the same for your host, Serato software.
- Click on set PhysX configuration and apply. Restart your PC & open Serato video. If it doesn’t open, then you should download the latest drivers.
- For ATI/AMD Radeon Card go-to graphics, then PowerPlay set plugged in and battery to maximum performance, Apply.
- If applicable to the graphics card, then go to graphics, 3D and move the slider to optimal performance; apply.
- Now browse to locate Serato video. ex and set for high performance if your catalyst control has a switchable graphic tab. Do the same for host Serato software.
- Now restart your PC and open software to play any video.
The Second method is,
- Right-click on the desktop, select Display settings.
- Scroll down in the right panel to look for Graphics settings, Click.
- Choose an app to set preference, select Classic app. Then, browse to the app or game .exe file that you want to force to use a GPU.
- Now, click on the app and then click Options.
- Select an option based on the listed GPU of your choice, under Set graphics preference. And you’re done.
